ur school was established in 1998 as a branch of another school, IES Valle de Lecrín and became independent in 2004. Currently there are 52 teachers , and 507 students distributed in this way: 382 in Secondary Compulsory Education, 110 in Higher Secondary, 12 in  FPB (basic vocational education), and 3 in FBO (special needs integrated students). The FPB programme belongs to the Social Service and Social Care vocational section and has been implemented this year for the first time. We have applied for a Medium Cycle of vocational studies from the same vocational area in order to supply  our students in Padul with a more extensive educational choice, as we are the only secondary school in this town.
We have never participated in an Erasmus programme before, but we have cooperated with other local institutions in their Erasmus projects. We are very enthusiastic about internationalizing our school. We are planning a KA1 for teacher training and fostering the learning of foreign languages. And we are very excited about participating in this KA 229 project, which will give plenty of motivation and learning experiences to our students.
We believe dancing is one of the best ways of communicating and sharing with others. It is also an activity far healthier than playing computer games and using your mobile phone, that is making our teenagers utterly antisocial. Learning typical dances from different European countries will enrich us all in many ways.
