Osnovna skola Hvar

hırvatistan.jpg

The Primary School Hvar is located on the island Hvar, which is connected well  to the city of Split by ferries and catamarans.

The school has 309 students and provides elementary education for the age of 6-15 years. 36 staff are employed, of which 26 are teachers.

In addition to regular teaching at school, we have a large number of extracurricular activities, from sports, drama, visual arts, robotics, dance to religion.

For inclusion in this project, we were  motivated by the need for a more systematic teaching of cultural heritage (including dance) within the educational process. Through the experience planned to be gained in this project we would like our children to  understand better their cultural potential.

Furthermore,  through the discovery and research of European values our students will strengthen the sense of belonging to a common European space, practising intercultural dialogue and finding what is similar and common to us, but also what is  different.

This will strengthen the skills of tolerant behaviour, respect for diversity and mutual respect, and contribute to the development of social, civic, intercultural competences of students.

Through project activities, we want to introduce new teaching methods, strengthen language skills, develop digital skills and media literacy as well as develop the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of students and teachers.
