Codlea is an ancient settlement on Codlea Hummock in Brasov county in the centre of Romania. According to the Saxon tradition, Codlea was founded by the Saxon colonists in the 13th century.
The first historical confirmation of the Theoretical Ioan Pascu Highschool in Codlea is in 1820. The Highschool has 55 classes on three different levels: primary, secondary and highschool, a number of over 1300 students and 78 teachers. We teach to Romanians, Saxons and Romani. There are also speaking German classes as a follow-up of the Saxon tradition in our town.
The school vision is to become a prestigious school in the region, in the centre of Romania, appreciated on the one hand by the students, parents, teachers and on the other hand by the entire community for the quality of the educational activities, the involvement in various programmes against violence, teaching at the local prison, courses for adults etc  and partnerships (local, regional, national and international), the modern material basis, the care for getting the best results of the students, the care and security of the students.
The Highschool's goals are based on education, promoting multiculturalism, multilingualism because it is a heterogeneous school, being involved in the study of three different languages and cultures .  The school also has a specific operational and strategic managerial planning to ensure a qualitative educational system, an intern monitoring, evaluation and auto-evaluation. Various national (Save the children, sigur.info) and international projects (eTwinning) are in process along the school years, in which students and teachers are involved. An international project, ’8 Goals...We act! " co- financed by the European Commission through the EuropeAid programme and  in partnership with Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Burundi in 2014 focused on environment sustainability, birth rate increase, poverty eradication. Our school got a grant of 400 E for the activities' quality  spent on making a park in the schoolyard and then reported in a dissemination conference along with the activities.
